Te Tahuhu o te Matauranga (The Ministry of Education) says that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is likely to have an increasing impact on education systems over the coming years. (Education Gazette, May 2023) Like any new technology, it is full of both possibility and uncertainty.
Join us in this wananga as we delve into the intriguing potential of AI in ECE and begin examining potential benefits while recognising ethical considerations and inherent risks to help kaiako begin to develop some guidelines for using AI in their mahi.

The image of the kaiako; writing Learning Stories for each other
Emma Parangi, Educational Leadership Project

Wednesday 14 August, 7-8:30pm

Just as our view of tamariki is culturally and socially created, so are our views of ourselves as kaiako. How does this show up in our whanaungatanga with our colleagues, mentors, mentees, and student kaiako? Are we engaging in regular reflective practices exploring our thoughts and feelings about our roles as kaiako?
Join Emma for this wānanga to unpack these pātai together.
We will explore how learning stories are the perfect form to shift, uplift, broaden, or strengthen our views of ourselves and each other. Learning stories can be multi-functional, and an essential function is to communicate with who you are writing to, through a strength based approach to learning and growth. Writing learning stories for each other as leaders and kaiako is a wonderful way to build and maintain supportive, growth focussed and robust team relationships.
