Though small in size\, mānuka has a staggering amount of uses\, from food to rongoā\, as well as all manner of tools and artefacts. Like the mānuka tree\, wonderfully written Learning Stories can also serve a number of purposes from assessment to evidence of Te Whāriki in action\, Internal Evaluation and teacher inquiry. Jayne White\, School of Teacher Education\, Faculty of Education\, University of Canterbury \nWednesday 10 April\, 7-8:30pm \nDespite the fact that infants have been part of the NZ ECE curriculum for well over twenty years\, the pedagogies that orient their learning are not easily asserted. There are several reasons for this – not least the lodging of infant pedagogies within wider agendas for older learners that emphasise intentionality. In part two\, I’ll further this journey\, exploring the crucial aspects raised by Kei Tua o te Pae\, starting with the importance of Māori educational advancement. The focus will then shift to ‘assessment for learning’ Te aromatawai mō te akoranga\, covering key elements like everyday contexts\, embracing uncertainty\, listening to mokopuna\, and collective assessments. Throughout\, I’ll update documentation\, showcasing the richness of our two-decade journey and the enduring value of exemplars.
